Susan doing the day's laundry at Pompolona Lodge

The clothes are washed in ice cold water with a bar of soap. Then they go through the ringer. And then I took them over to a drying room to hang them up. By after dinner they are dry. Once again we are very impressed with the lodge, the view, and grateful to have all the comforts of home, a bed, a bathroom with hot water, and a wonderful hot dinner.

I started out the morning with the bone in my right ankle feeling stressed. After lunch it began to hurt, and then it began to slow me down. By the time I reached Pompolona Lodge, after walking on it for nine miles, it hurt. I took some Aleve, got it elevated, and got ice on it. Only 22.5 more miles to go.
