|Part of our living room at the Sofitel Hotel|
|Sunday late April 3
When Alex dropped us off in Queenstown we decided to see if we could get a good off-season deal at the Sofitel. Their in season rates for a basic room are about $600 US. They offered us an off-season rate of $240 US, still pretty steep. I get them to add a complimentary breakfast and a lake view room, but they won't budge on the price. And we've been on the road for a week, we are so tired and cold. So we take it, and then the manager upgrades us to a suite. This is not a hotel room, its a small house, it's 1400 square foot. Separate living room, the bathroom has its own Jacuzzi tub, with a TV and a waterproof remote. The separate shower has dual heads. We have three balconies, and views on three sides. Too bad we are only staying one night. But our flight tomorrow isn't until the afternoon so that's good.
