|After the tour we get on the monorail to go to the Ferris wheel for a different view of the city. Still trying to understand this public transportation system. It must be possible to come to Tokyo without Japanese friends, but we have not yet figured out how. I'll buy the Insight Guide to the City of Tokyo when I get home. I only purchased the Japan one. Cities are another thing Harold and I don't normally do on vacation. Too crowded, too busy, too dirty, too Westernized. But I would come back to Tokyo. Its very crowded, but polite and organized. Its very clean. Its not Westernized at all, except maybe the architecture, which is beautiful. And I was fascinated by the blend of ultra-modern high tech with the traditional. In the buildings, the bridges, the churches, the fashion, the restaurants. And their modern technology is more advanced than ours. Their old relics have way more history than ours. I like that, accept the best of the new, keep the best of the old. Go with the flow.
